Marcelo Evelin (BR) is a choreographer, researcher and performer, living and working between Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and Teresina (Brazil). In Europe since 1986, works with dance and have collaborated with artists from different disciplines and backgrounds in projects also including physical theater, music, video, installation and site-specific performances. Evelin is an independent creator with his Platform Demolition Incorporada, created in 1995, and teaches at the Mime School in Amsterdam, where he also guides students in their creative processes. He coordinates workshops and collaborative projects in various countries of Europe, America, Africa, Japan, South America and Brazil, where he returned in 2006 and since then has been working also as a curator, having deployed in Teresina, Piaui, the Núcleo do Dirceu, a collective of artists and a platform for independent research and development of the Contemporary Performing Arts, which he coordinates until 2013. His performances "De repente fica tudo preto de gente" (2012), “Batucada” (2014) and “A Invenção da Maldade” (2019) are currently being shown in theaters and festivals in Brazil and abroad. He currently coordinates the Residency Center Campo Arte Contemporanea in Teresina, Piaui , Brazil.

 

Marijn de Langen (NL), PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK). She is also - since 2002- theory teacher at the Mime study programme at the Academy of Theatre and Dance (ATD), one of the academies of the AHK. As part of her postdoc research, in 2019 she initiated the Embodied Knowledge in Theatre and Dance research group for teachers at the ATD, which she is coordinating. In October 2017 she successfully defended her doctoral thesis Mime denken: Nederlandse mime als manier van denken 

(Dutch Mime, a distinct mode of thought in contemporary theatre practice - Utrecht University). At this moment she is working on the preparation for the publication of a richly illustrated version of the thesis, in Dutch and English language versions, to be published by Amsterdam University Press. Academic research conducted by Marijn de Langen has resulted in several publications and seminars. Her articles have been published in the theatre journals Theater Der Zeit, Theater Topics, Etcetera and Theatermaker, and she organised the following seminars at the ATD: Mime Think Tank (2008), Mime Memory Boom (2011), There is a Discussion (2014/2015) and Decroux Café (2019, 2020). From 2012 to 2019, Marijn de Langen was a curriculum developer, teacher and research coach on the staff of the Honours Programme Theory and Research, an English language research programme at ArtEZ University of the Arts (Arnhem, Eindhoven, Zwolle) that mentors a multidisciplinary group of BA students conducting multidisciplinary artistic research. Together with Prof Peter Sonderen, De Langen initiated, authored and edited the book Theory||Arts||Practices (2017). De Langen was an independent practising dramaturge from 2006 to 2012.
